OOCL Spain

The OOCL Spain belongs to Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) and has a capacity of 24,188 TEU. It is the first of twelve ships of the MGX 24 series. The mega-carriers are built in the shipyards NACKS in Nantong and DACKS in Dalian, China. The OOCL Spain was put into service in March and sails in the liner service between Asia and Northern Europe. With a deadweight tonnage of nearly 230,000 tonnes, the almost 400-metre-long ship has a maximum draught of 16.5 metres. Powered by a WinGD main engine 12 x 92 with an output of 65,000 kilowatts, the OOCL Spain accelerates to a cruising speed of 22.5 knots.
