On September 23, 2024, the “Atlantic Star” docked in Hamburg again after undergoing a comprehensive refit. The shipping company ACL, which is part of the Grimaldi Group, seized this opportunity to showcase the ship's unique features to customers and guests during a reception held on board. The “Atlantic Star” is one of a fleet of five sister ships that regularly sail between Northern Europe and the American East Coast. A complete round trip takes approximately 35 days, allowing the shipping company to guarantee weekly departures from Hamburg.

The vessel has the capacity to carry 3,800 containers and features a 28,900 m² ro-ro area capable of accommodating 1,300 vehicles, along with oversized and heavy ro-ro cargo.

The “Atlantic Star” boasts a flexible design that enables the loading of containers, cars, SUVs, large vehicles and particularly heavy or bulky RoRo cargo. The RoRo decks are particularly spacious with a height of 7.4 meters, while the car decks provide an above-average height of 2.10 meters. If required, sections of the ro-ro decks can be used for containers, which increases the loading capacity by a further 739 TEU.

With a length of 296 meters, a width of 38 meters and a carrying capacity of 45,000 tons, the ship has a fully loaded draught of 11.50 meters. The loading ramp can support up to 420 tons, enabling the transport of especially heavy cargo.
