It is an acoustic and optical spectacle in a very special place: On the occasion of the reopening of the eastern tube of the St. Pauli Elbtunnel after the renovation, the "Hochschule für Musik und Theater" and the Hamburg Port Authority organised four concerts in the St. Pauli Elbtunnel on the last weekend of May 2019. 144 musicians played a specially composed symphony distributed over the 860 metres of the two Elbtunnel tubes. They were conducted digitally: each performer was given a tablet and was given his or her own scoring voice using specially developed software. A server computer controlled the tablets individually in real time. Meanwhile, the concert visitors moved freely in the Elbtunnel.
