At the Port of Hamburg quarterly press conference on 24 May 2017, Hafen Hamburg Marketing e.V. presented the results of the Port of Hamburg in the first quarter of 2017. The Port of Hamburg’s total throughput was up by 1.7 percent at 35.4 million tons. The bulk cargo segment contributing to the good result. This has exceeded the twelve million tons threshold for the first time, with the best quarterly result ever. Container throughput development was stable at 2.2 million TEU.
