The year 2024 was characterised by complex economic and political influences. The persistence of global conflicts and the weak economic climate in Germany had an impact on the Port of Hamburg’s throughput. Demand in global trade remained volatile, but container throughput in the Port of Hamburg was able to recover. Likewise, the energy transition made itself felt in bulk cargo throughput.
