For all specialists in the breakbulk segment, the annual Breakbulk Europe in Antwerp is the continent’s top event. That was one good reason for Port of Hamburg Marketing and several member companies in the port/transport industry to showcase on the Port of Hamburg joint venture stand in Antwerp from 24 to 26 May.

The Port of Hamburg is among Europe’s most flexible and top performing universal ports. Hamburg’s seven multi-purpose terminals with 24 berths are noteworthy for their many years of experience and state-of-the-art equipment. Around 1.7 million tons of conventional cargo was handled in the Port of Hamburg in 2015, including out-of-gauge and extremely heavy machinery and plant elements, metals and industrial building sections. Conventional export cargoes handled at the Port of Hamburg’s special terminals mainly consisted of heavy-lift and project shipments. Terminals in the Port of Hamburg and its partner ports in the region also specialize in transport and logistics solutions for the rapidly growing offshore industry. This covers both customized logistics for installation and running offshore wind farms, and services such as special warehousing and packing, or the organization of shipments to/from the seaport hinterland.

“We are delighted about the strong presence of Hamburg companies and ports from the Hamburg Metropolitan Region, who have joined us at Breakbulk Europe in marketing our immense variety of services in this segment that is of such an important factor in added value,” said Axel Mattern, CEO of Port of Hamburg Marketing. Alfons Köster, Brunsbüttel Ports, Buss Port Logistics, HHLA, UASC Europe, Port of Kiel, Rendsburg Port  and Wallmann all showcased on Port of Hamburg Marketing’s joint stand.
