Port of Hamburg presence at Breakbulk Europe trade fair in Bremen focuses on heavy-lift cargo and plant project shipments

The annual Breakbulk Europe trade fair is Europe’s premier event for specialists in the segment. That was good reason for Port of Hamburg Marketing and several member companies from the seaport transport business to showcase on a Port of Hamburg joint venture stand in Bremen from 21 to 23 May 2019.

The Port of Hamburg is among Europe’s most flexible and high-performance universal ports. Hamburg’s multi-purpose terminals are notable for decades of experience and cutting-edge equipment. In 2018 around 1.5 million tons of conventional freight were handled in the Port of Hamburg, including out-of-gauge and heavy-lift machinery and plant elements, metals and industrial building sections. Conventional freight exports consist primarily of heavy-lift and plant cargoes that are handled at the special facilities in the Port of Hamburg.  Terminals in the Port of Hamburg and partner ports in the region also specialize in transport and logistics solutions for the rapidly growing offshore industry. Dedicated logistics solutions for installing and supplying offshore wind farms are just as much part of the range as special warehousing, packing, and organization of shipments from and into the ports’ hinterland.

“We are delighted by the active participation by Hamburg companies plus the ports of Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Along with us, at ‘Breakbulk Europe’ they are promoting the large and varied range of services we offer in a handling segment that is so relevant for added value,” said Axel Mattern, Joint CEO of Port of Hamburg Marketing.
Eleven members companies showcased on the Port of Hamburg joint venture stand:

  • Alfons Köster & Co.
  • BREEZE Project (Germany)
  • Brunsbüttel Ports
  • Hamburg Süd
  • HHLA
  • Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft
  • Port of Kiel
  • Rendsburg Port
  • SACO Shipping
  • SCHRAMM Ports & Logistics Sweden
  • TCO Transcargo

For HHM, showing this year at the fair once again proved a success, as its eleven co-exhibitors can testify.
“As always, the exhibition scored by being patronized solely by trade visitors. The Wednesday, especially, was very well supported, with the stand being used for numerous meetings and discussions. So we have booked space again for 2020,” confirmed Mathias Schulz of Port of Hamburg Marketing.
