Logistics World – the new Port of Hamburg Magazine is out now

The Port of Hamburg Magazine’s fourth issue 2017 deals with the many-faceted and exciting world of logistics. Employing over three million people and with turnover of 258 billion euros in 2016, after the automotive industry and trade, the logistics sector is the third largest sector of Germany’s economy and an important factor in powering economic growth and the labour market.
Due not least to its port, Hamburg occupies a top place among German logistics regions. In 2016 cargoes crossing the quay walls of the Port of Hamburg totalled 138.2 million tons. No wonder that in Hamburg alone, around 5,700 logistics companies ensure smooth transport of goods from A to B. Hamburg as a logistics base also needs to confront the challenges of the future. The major task here will certainly be to share in shaping the digital transformation of the sector in the coming decades.
