Jasper Faber, Mobility & Transport Manager at CE Delft, will deliver a keynote address on day one of Propulsion & Future Fuels, 19-21 November 2019
Taking place in Hamburg, Germany the Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference will welcome a host of speakers offering advice, knowledge and information on how companies can meet increasing industry restrictions.

Faber’s keynote address will cover the revised parameters of the IMO Green House Gas (GHG) study, including the latest transport work projections and contemporary GDP projections. He will also provide an overview of the options available for companies to bridge the gap between projected emissions and the targets of the Initial IMO GHG Strategy.

Faber’s expertise centres on aviation and maritime transport, specifically analysing policy instruments, improving environmental performance of aviation and maritime shipping and assisting policy makers in the design of policy instruments that yield maximum environmental benefits at minimal economic cost. In recent years Jasper has focused on potential policy tools for establishing climate policy within shipping and is now looking at strategies that can be created by governments, not just to encourage innovation but to steer technology in a sustainable direction.

Faber will be joined during the first day keynote addresses by Roger Strevens, VP, Global Sustainability, Wallenius Wilhelmsen who will discuss “Decarbonisation – boosters and blockers” and Carlo Raucci, Principal Consultant, UMAS (University Maritime Advisory Services) who will discuss “Zero-Emission Vessels Transition Pathways”.

The Conference will also welcome a ‘Future Fuel’ Showcase panel focusing on the use of ammonia as an alternative fuel. Panellist and topics include "MAN B&W Dual Fuel Engines" presented by Kjeld Aabo, MAN ES; "Assessment of ammonia as an alternative fuel in shipping" presented by Christos Chryssakis, Business Development Manager, DNV GL and "Safe, efficient and reliable floating pipelines" presented by Paul Flaherty, Director, Fleet and Technical Operations, Navigator Gas.
