Green and digital – SMM has a first-class conference programme

Global shipping is currently in rough waters, but even in times of crisis there are innovative ideas and solutions. SMM presents four conferences – Maritime Future Summit, gmec, MS&D and Offshore Dialogue. Leading international experts will be there to present their approaches to digitisation, efficiency, green shipping, maritime security, and offshore. Conference participants can meet maritime industry leaders personally, and exchange views in the unique environment of SMM, the leading international maritime trade fair.

Overview of the conferences:
The Maritime Future Summit on 05/09/2016 covers all the major trends and latest development in automation, digitisation and big data. Speakers include Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen, CEO Maritime of DNV GL: www.smm-hamburg.com/mfs.
The global maritime environmental congress (gmec) on 06/09/2016 focuses on alternative propulsion systems, digital transport control, and sophisticated measurement electronics. Speakers include Dr Martin Stopford of Clarksons Research: www.smm-hamburg.com/gmec.
MS&D, the international Maritime Security and Defence Conference on 07/09/2016 features leading experts discussing security methods today and trends for tomorrow. Speakers include naval expert Bob Nugent of AMI International: www.smm-hamburg.com/msd.
The Offshore Dialogue on 08/09/2016 features leading speakers from the international maritime industry, academia, universities and government organisations. The conference is supported by the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). It focuses on the oil and gas crisis, and on the impact of digitisation: www.smm-hamburg.com/od.
