30 years of city partnership - the Elbe metropolises Prague and Hamburg

18 Sep 2020 00:00 Economy

On the occasion of the 30-year anniversary of city partnership between the Elbe metropolises Hamburg and Prague, the First Mayor of Hamburg, Dr. Peter Tschentscher, visited at the end of August the partner town in the Czech Republic. The program included a tour in the German embassy and a visit to the Jewish quarter as well as the opening of the concert series “musica non grata”.

Culturally and economically, there is a wide range of collaborations between the two partner cities in almost all areas. The Port of Hamburg is an important transhipment point for the Czech Republic's foreign trade: More than half of Czech container traffic via sea is transhipped through the Hanseatic city. As head of the Port of Hamburg representative office in Prague, Vladimír Doboš represents the interests of the largest German universal port in the Czech Republic and is committed to customers and partners.
