Port of Hamburg Marketing Annual ReportIn 2015 Port of Hamburg Marketing has once again maintained its position very well. The marketing organisation held numerous, very successful networking events - some 5,200 decision-makers from port and logistics businesses as well as trade and industry took part - domestically and internationally. Furthermore, Port of Hamburg Marketing looked after 112 visitor groups, represented the Port of Hamburg at trade fairs and conferences and welcomed 12 new association members. In addition, the maritime network has been successfully extended in Germany, Europe and Asia.
Intensive marketing and diverse activities undertaken by the marketing organisation to place and strengthen the Port of Hamburg as a logistics location were of particular significance in the reporting year. China's weakened economy and the Russian crisis lead to a substantial reduction in the total turnover, with the Port of Hamburg achieving a total turnover of 137,8 million tons in 2015; a reduction of 5.4 percent. "For the Port of Hamburg it is of great importance that we, together with our members and partners, are present and active in our important markets. For example, we have offered new event formats for new market regions and strengthened our activities in the existing markets. One of the significant milestones for last year was showcasing 'Gateway to Hamburg' at the ‘transport logistic’ fair in Munich as well as the re-launch of our Internet site www.hafen-hamburg.de," emphasised Ingo Egloff, joint CEO of Port of Hamburg Marketing.
Joint CEO of Port of Hamburg Marketing, Axel Mattern added: "We are pleased with the positive response to our work, which we have received from our members, customers and partners as well as representatives from the worlds of politics, industry and business, from beyond Hamburg’s borders too. With 290 members currently, in 2016 we will continue promoting the positioning of the Universal Port of Hamburg and the maritime economy of the Lower Elbe and the metropolitan region, by staging diverse activities."
The current Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the projects and activities at home and abroad, for 2015. The increasing number of international members and partners has lead the marketing organisation to publish this report for the first time in English too. The digital report in German and English is available under: Annual Report Port of Hamburg Marketing.
