On 19 March 2021, the China-Europe express celebrated its tenth anniversary of services. A year later, in March 2022, the Silk Road was facing a new reality. With a war waging in Ukraine, sanctions in place and routes blocked, the future of Eurasian connections became unclear. Yet, the Silk Road, just like it did during the pandemic, proved its resilience. The beginning of a new decade of China-Europe trains marks the emergence of the Silk Road 2.0 phase. The European Silk Road Summit 2022 in Duisburg will discuss the latest developments on the New Silk Road. The event expects more than 300 international logistics professionals.
