Barge Transport Volume

The Port of Hamburg is one of the most important inland ports in Germany. Here, too, investments are being made in the environmentally friendly mode of transport and the waterway network is being further expanded. Projects such as the opening of the Wusterwitz lock, which connects Berlin with Hanover and also with the Port of Hamburg via other waterways, are opening up important economic potential here.
