History meets modernity at the traditional port Sandtorhafen in the HafenCity. Up to 25 historical vessels can dock along the 380 meter long pontoon area of Hamburg’s first artificially built port basin.

Ships having moored there not even 150 years ago, such as ewers, barges, tugs and a mobile floating crane, can be visited.

The foundation “Hamburg Maritim” is in charge of the traditional port. Their aim is the conservation of the city's maritime heritage and its opening for the public.
