Based in the port of Hamburg, STAQ is able to offer the following services. Stevedoring Lashing and securing Load control/monitoring (Tallying) Survey Quality… Despite the fact that STAQ commenced its operations in January of 2012, the quality of the services it provides is based on a very important foundation – highly experienced and qualified workers. The owner of the company, Derek Stafford, began as a stevedore and worked his way up through the positions of a foreman, inspector (supervisor), operations manager and finally to the position of managing director. During this time he was able to obtain comprehensive technical as well as commercial knowledge. Side by side with young, motivated colleagues and the opportunity to offer apprenticeships as port logistic technicians, this creates an excellent foundation for the future. Health and Safety The health and safety of its employees has been a priority of STAQ from day one. In this area of work the employees traditionally remain loyal; often remaining in the occupation until the time of retirement. Therefore it is our duty and responsibility to provide our employees with a safe working environment. Through establishing and maintaining a health- and performance-enhancing work environment as well as a comprehensive management, we contribute to the maintenance and success of our company. Certification according to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 On the 1st November 2012, STAQ’s current work and health management system was audited by the Germanische Lloyd. No discrepancies were found at the time of the audit. As an independent examining and certification body, the Germanische Lloyd therefore certified the conformity of the management system according to BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
