Opposite of Überseebrücke at the other side of the Elbe is the Norderwerft. Since 1906, the shipyard carries out repairs and reconstructions of ships. It operates three docks as well as three quays.
The "Bunte Kuh" (Colorful Cao), a passenger vessel used between Hamburg and Helgoland until 1963, was also launched here.
