HHLA Container Terminal Tollerort, occupies the smallest area of all container terminals in Hamburg, but it is recognised as achieving very high performance, and is innovative and flexible. The rail terminal is equipped with a portal crane system that facilitates handling block trains on curved tracks. A total of five block-train tracks are available. With state-of-the-art gantry cranes at Tollerort large containerships with a capacity of up to 23,000 TEU can be loaded and discharged.
