Blohm + Voss, the biggest shipyard in Hamburg, is located opposite of St. Pauli Landungsbrücken.
The companie’s main business are ship repairs and reconstructions. Five docks provide capacities for ships up to 320,000 dwt (dead weight tonnage). Among them is Europe's largest dry dock with a length of 352 meters.
“Queen Mary 2” occasionally undergoes repairs in dry dock "Elbe 17".
