brand is being reinforced. The corresponding con- struction work there should be completed by the end of 2021.
Good progress is also being made on the compensa- tory ecological measures. In Zollenspieker nature re- serve, for example, areas have been secured for the hemlock water dropwort. The former waterworks on
the island of Billwerder has also been reconstructed as a habitat for this plant. If the schedule is met, these measures will be completed next year.
Following completion of the dredging works along the whole stretch between the Port of Hamburg and the North Sea, the improved drafts will be made available in summer 2021. ■ (jh)
