Port of Hamburg – gateway to the world

One of the principal markets for the Port of Hamburg are the Far East routes. In 2010, Hamburg had an average of 27 full-container services arrive each week from the Far East, reflecting the Hanseatic City’s strength on this particular trade route.

There were also seven liner services with North American destinations, and eleven bound for South America. Almost 50 feeder services covered the North and Baltic Sea regions.

Twelve new scheduled liner services were launched in the year 2010. Six of these link Hamburg to the Far East, one to the North Sea, and five to the Baltic Sea.
