Tank Storage Germany, the leading event for the German tank storage industry, has unveiled its speaker line-up for 2015. The high-level yet highly practical two-day conference, with feature keynotes from Zenith Energy Management, TanQuid and HSH Nordbank, takes place on 25 & 26 November 2015 in Hamburg Messe.

The largest dedicated event for terminal operators, oil companies, traders and regulators in the German market will provide an opportunity for delegates to gain insights on a regional and global scale. Leading experts will speak about the current challenges, opportunities for growth and detailed analysis from the past year in the tank storage industry and how to anticipate the year to come.

Urs Beckmann, COO, at TanQuid GmbH & Co. KG will be presenting ‘Strategic Alliances and Operational Implications of Service Level Agreements to increase flexibility and performance’. Beckmann will explore the major players and game plans, supply chain levelling, core service level elements and the outlook on future relationships.

Few could argue that the financing of tank terminal projects is a critical issue, so providing more information on this will be Lars Sörensen, Senior Vice President, at HSH Nordbank. He will look at the key factors including financial structure, due diligence, underlying market dynamics and explain the variety in documentation.

Building on this theme will be Bert van der Toorn, MD, Head of O&G, LNG and Petchem EMEA, ING Commercial Banking, presenting ‘ING’s experience in financing tank storage’; and Jay Reynolds, Chief Commercial Officer, at Zenith Energy Management who will be explaining exactly what investors look out for in a terminal.

Broadening discussions to the development of a gas terminal within an existing infrastructure will be Hans Grossmann, Managing Director, at GOC Engineering. He will specifically focus on the hazards and risks when working on a pre-existing site, what the operational aspects are and the advantages and disadvantages of these sites.

As always, safety is set to be a key topic for discussion, Albert Espinel, Tank Management Sales Manager, Regulator Technologies, at Emerson Process Management will present ‘Detecting a problem at the terminal before it becomes critical’. He will explain what actually happens when devices such as emergency relief valves, breather valves, flame arrestors and tank blanketing regulators fail. He will also show how to reduce emissions and enhance protection throughout diagnostics, alarms and full monitoring solutions with wireless technology.

Sven Partzsch, Principal Consultant, at TankEdge Consultancy will be sharing his insight into ‘Safe and efficient terminal construction’. Also speaking about safety will be Alec Keeler, Managing Director of Loadtec, who will discuss working at height and how best to make terminals safe for employees. Keeler will also look at how to future-proof a plant when regulations and guidelines are constantly changing.

Tank Storage Germany 2015 not only features a strong conference programme, but also a packed exhibition hall, with suppliers from across the region using the show to launch products and services into the German market.
