Hamburger Hafen und Logistik Aktiengesellschaft (HHLA), the largest container terminal operator in Hamburg and provider of transport and logistics services, is transferring the responsibility of the Container intermediate holding company to the holding company. As of 1 August 2015, all of the functions and management responsibilities currently held by the intermediate holding company HHLA Container Terminals GmbH will therefore be concentrated at Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG. The new management structure will enable HHLA to respond more quickly and flexibly to changing market requirements and to make greater use of synergies in the future.

Responsibility for the Container segment will now be held collectively by the HHLA Executive Board under the leadership of the Chairman of the Executive Board, Klaus-Dieter Peters. The current divisional management structure via the intermediate holding company HHLA Container Terminals GmbH will be replaced by a functional management structure. The container sales department and container operations functions, which are currently based in the intermediate holding company, will now be managed from the holding company under the leadership of Executive Board member Dr. Stefan Behn. Staff at the intermediate holding company HHLA Container Terminals GmbH will also move to Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG.

With its new management structure, HHLA is aiming to further streamline its operational and administrative workflows, respond more quickly to changing market requirements by means of shorter decision-making channels and realise synergies.
