Warsaw Office
The Port of Hamburg Marketing Office in Warsaw was opened in 1996.In the meantime the market has come to value it as an important contact point for all issues in ocean-going foreign trade. Numerous events and projects have helped establish it as a successful representative of the Port of Hamburg.
Poland’s seaborne foreign trade has grown dynamically since the country joined the EU, which also brought positive developments in the German-Polish trade relations.
Poland now ranks sixth among the Port of Hamburg’s foreign trade partners. Around 600,000 TEU passed through the port as import or export cargo for the Polish market, 337,000 of them transported in an environmentally sound way by feeder ships and 110,000 by rail.
One of the central tasks of the Port of Hamburg office, which the head of the agency, Maciej Brzozowski, and his assistant Emilia Świetnicka carry out, is providing specific information about port development, expansion projects, port services and transport routes for incoming and outgoing cargo.
Arranging contacts with Port of Hamburg Marketing member companies is another frequently requested service. During the last four years, that is, since the Eastern European expansion of the EU, Polish and Hamburg have increasingly been initiating joint ventures.
With its worldwide network of liner services, the Port of Hamburg is much in demand as an universal port for foreign trade. The office organises numerous events for customers every year in order to further expand the port business through new contacts. On the one hand, these events help further communications and bring companies from both countries together, and on the other hand, they present the port and port businesses on the Polish market.
