in

Just in time for the transport logistic in Munich – the world’s biggest transport and logistics trade fair – Port of Hamburg Marketing has brought out a new Port Handbook for 2009, and will be presenting it in the course of the event between 12 and 15 May. The bilingual publication in English and German has 176 pages containing comprehensive information about the cargo handling terminals of the Port of Hamburg, the development of the port, the many services provided by the marine transport industry, and the seaport to hinterland transport facilities by road, rail, inland waterway vessel and the feeder network.

The Port of Hamburg Handbook 2009 also includes a handy map of the port that folds out, and a large-format overview of partner ports in the Metropolitan Region. A table conveys information about the size and facilities of all 45 terminals that handle goods carried by sea. More than 1000 classified local addresses make it easy to find business partners and new contacts at the port.

A special chapter deals with business relations between the Port of Hamburg and Switzerland. Switzerland was chosen as the port’s partner country for 2009 to mark the Port of Hamburg’s 820th anniversary at the beginning of May. With an annual volume of goods amounting to more than 70,000 containers (TEU), Switzerland is an important partner of the port.
