In addition, SEEHAFEN KIEL provides customer-oriented real estate management services to encourage businesses to locate. It also runs a public railway company that operates in the greater Northern German region as well as in the port.

BTKI facilitates through the several modern port facilities the operational clearance of RoRo- and Container vessels and also the loading and discharging of conventional vessels in the Ostuferhafen of Kiel.
