The 2010 cruise season

Altogether the Port of Hamburg received 104 calls (2009: 87) from cruise ships, so that for the first time in Hamburg’s cruise history the mark of 100 calls in a season was topped.

The season had already been ushered in during February with the naming of the “AIDAblu”. The season ended with calls by cruise ships during the festive pre-Christmas weeks.

Numerous maritime events, among them two ship naming ceremonies and six first calls, made Hamburg a popular holiday destination in 2010, not just for cruise customers but also for a host of keen sightseers.
